The Infinity ECU for the 2002-05 MKIV Volkswagen Golf/Jetta 1.8T (Infinity 506 PN 30-7106 and Infinity 508 PN 30-7108) includes an application-specific start-up calibration and connects to the MKIV via a Plug & Play harness that is designed to fit in the factory location (sold separately, PN 30-3903). Begin by determining which Infinity ECU will best support the ancillary components in your manual transmission MKIV using the Infinity Specifications Chart in the "Specs" tab. The manual transmission 2002-05 Volkswagen Golt/Jetta 1.8T Plug & Play includes several unique features that incorporate the VW’s factory CAN bus system and retains dashboard functionality. Users can also view and log wheel speed and steering angle through the CAN datastream. (see "Features" tab).

Complete Stand Alone Engine Control
The Infinity ECU combines with the Plug & Play harness to replace the factory ECU. It controls all of the engine functions and the Plug & Play wiring harness adapter eliminates the need for cutting and splicing wires.

Plug & Play Harness with Expansion Port
AEM’s sealed, weatherproof Plug & Play harness (sold separately) includes dual Lambda connectors, an AEMnet connector for communication with other AEMnet enabled devices and an auxiliary connector with a High Performance DTM-Style 12P connector for adding common aftermarket sensors including fuel pressure, air inlet temperature, MAP, boost control solenoid and ethanol content. The expansion port also includes a sensor ground, 5v reference, power from relay and high side output for activating a solenoid, and switched inputs for auxiliary radiator fan, boost target and no-lift shift.

Speed Density Fueling Control
The Infinity ECU does not support the factory Mass Airflow sensor. AEM offers a MAP sensor adapter harness (PN 30-3903-00) for seamless integration that provides speed density fueling control and allows users to eliminate the factory Mass Airflow sensor (MAF).

Uses Factory Wideband UEGO Air/Fuel Sensors & Boost Control Solenoid
The Infinity 1.8T Plug & Play Adapter Harness is designed to accept the factory wideband UEGO sensor, eliminating the need to add a wideband sensor to the car. The factory N75 boost control valve is supported, and the Infinity can control aftermarket boost control solenoids if added.

Full Drive-by-Wire Control
The Infinity programmable ECU for the VW 1.8T supports the factory Drive-by-Wire throttle body and can easily accommodate larger DBW throttle bodies using the DBW Set Up Wizard in InfinityTuner software.

CAN Integration
The Infinity standalone ECU features CAN integration on the MKIV 1.8T and retains dashboard functionality. Users can also view and log wheel speed and steering angle through the CAN datastream.

Traction Control
Traction control is fully tunable using the CAN based factory wheel speed sensors.

User Definable DBW Throttle Response
Users can define throttle curves in the InfinityTuner DBW software and take full control of throttle response. This allows users to change throttle response rate on the fly via an AEM 12-Position Trim Pot and is ideal for setting rain mode throttle curves.

200MHz Processor and Real Time Operating System
Late model vehicle ECU’s all run on faster processors. The Infinity ECU is built around a latest-generation 32 bit floating point 200MHz automotive processor and Real Time Operating System (RTOS), which is capable of processing 400 MIPS (millions of instructions per second). By comparison, common competitive systems typically use 20MHz to 50MHz processors. To our knowledge, the Infinity ECU currently has the fastest processing speed of any aftermarket Motorsports ECU available. This allows the Infinity to do more, faster, in a more stable programming environment.
